Title: Developing a Sustainability Program That Works for Your Company

Description:

The asphalt industry has been a leader in sustainable practices, including the use of recycled materials, adoption of warm mix asphalt technologies, and development of innovative materials such as porous pavements for stormwater management. Some companies have leveraged these advancements to develop robust sustainability programs providing positive financial returns and reduced environmental impacts. But with some corporate sustainability reports over 100 pages in length, the task of putting together a program can seem daunting, especially for smaller companies that may only have a few asphalt plants. Learn how to develop a sustainability program that's right sized for your company along with lessons learned from others in the industry.

  1. Learn how a commitment to sustainability can be documented, communicated, and demonstrated to create value for a company and its customers, regardless of company size.
  2. Understand what the elements of a sustainability program might be, how they could evolve over time, and how to take credit for sustainable practices your company implements.
  3. Recognize the relationship between sustainability and business success through examples of sustainability tools companies can use and implement, as well as past lessons learned from implementation.
